Could It Be? SNES Mini?

Super Nintendo Mini Classic SNES

Well, there is some good news and there is some bad news.  Which one did you want to hear first?  *beat* I knew it!  Alright, I will tell you the bad news first (like you actually had a say in the matter)… Well as some of you may or may not know, the Nintendo Classic Mini has been discontinued WORLDWIDE! There are a lot of pissed off people out there (moi, included).  They ended up going into production once again after the first batch sold out and that was it.  Now if you want one, good luck!  You’d probably have to either sell your left testicle and/or first born to get one.  No thanks, I’m good.

So now that we have the bad news, we can only go up from here, right?  Alright, onto the good news… The Nintendo Classic Mini may be out of production but that makes way for the more than likely possibility of the Super Nintendo Classic Mini!  You heard right, folks!  The website eurogamer.net has claimed that multiple sources closely related with Nintendo have stated that a mini version of the Super Nintendo is in production, and was a primary reason for the discontinuation of the NES Classic Mini.

Now, you may be skeptical of something like this, but just remember, Eurogamer was correct with the leaked information that it had regarding the Nintendo Switch and its hardware specs back when it was code-named Nintendo NX.  Sources are also saying that it is slated for a Holiday 2017 release (which means it will be pure and utter hell to get one of these).  Eurogamer also states that they have tried to contact Nintendo regarding this information and they declined to comment.  So you know what that means…. (insert smug grin here)

At any rate, Nintendo would be a FOOL to not make an SNES version, especially after the amazing success of the NES Mini.  Let’s be honest though, Nintendo knew that the NES Mini would be popular.  Who wouldn’t want one?  Hell, I still want one!  I wonder which titles would be loaded on to it?  I’m thinking Super Mario World, the Donkey Kong Country series, Mother 3, a couple of Final Fantasy titles, The Legend of Zelda:  A Link to the Past, Super Mario Kart, Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island, Chrono Trigger, Secret of Evermore and Secret of Mana just to name a few!  This has me so excited!  I hope it’s true!  What about you?  What titles would you like to see on this console if it comes to fruition?  Let me know down in the comments below!

Oh, what a time to be a live!
